After a tough morning fishing, Blaine managed to hook and land this chrome Manistee river king salmon. The morning started out slow but we came into some fresh fish mid morning. We were back bouncing fresh skein into various runs and log jams. Normally we do well pulling plugs, but the only ticket this day was fresh skein. Bobber fishing with skein behind the boat can also produce great results.This fish here is one of three caught. Hook ups were good this day, but our landing percentage was a little lower. Our daily catch consisted of three fish, one @ 4lbs, one @ 15lbs and one @ 17lbs. Quantum rods / reels were a big help in todays trip. We tried out some new Cold Water Series casting rods and had wonderful results. These rods had wonderful backbone and plenty of power for handling these King Salmon.
