We also talk about the musky stocking program and why it’s key to sustaining the inland fishery for those big fish. Next, Michigan Conservation Officer BJ Goulette has advice on how stay safe, and legal, in the whitetail woods this season.

    We’re talking whitetail hunting in the final hour with outdoor writer Richard P Smith. Richard has been bowhunting in the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Richard says he expects a good firearm season across the U.P. Wild game Chef Dave Minar wraps is all up with a very nice venison recipe.

    Hour two kicks off with Jim Felgenauer from the St. Clair Chapter of Sturgeon for Tomorrow. Jim says the fishing has been very good this fall and should continue to get better until the river freezes up. Ian Fitzgerald from MUCC is next. Ian talks about some proposed changes to the springtime turkey hunt, including allowing gun hunters to use tree stands and extending the season dates.
