Then, Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa of MLive joins me with a look ahead at our springtime weather and Great Lakes water levels.

    Hour 2 kicks off with Outdoor Writer and avid angler Dave Mull. Dave spends most of his time on the water these days in a kayak…and he says it’s a great way to fish. Dave has great advice on how to get started and what to look for in a “yak”. Amy Trotter of MUCC is up next. Amy describes how coronavirus has impacted outdoor related action in Lansing.

    We’re talking panfish in our final hour this week with Steve Griffin. Steve says this is a great time of year to start chasing crappies in shallow water. He tells us where to find them and how to catch them. He also looks ahead to the bluegill spawning season and explains why those fish can help us get back to our fishing roots. We wrap it up with Chef Dave Minar. This time he has a very nice catfish recipe.

    First, Matt Pedigo reminds us about the program to transfer Michigan bear tags to youth hunters. Then, he puts on his Michigan Wildlife Council Hat with an update on the Here for Generations campaign. Then, Jerry Wydner of Hunter Safety System tells us how his Elimishield scent elimination products are actually more effective than hand sanitizer in killing germs and viruses. Jeff Poet from Jay’s Sporting Goods wraps up the hour talking about the decision to temporarily close their stores due to the coronavirus.

He has great advice to help you back that longboard. Ed Golder of the Michigan DNR is up next. Ed answers questions about hunting and fishing during the state’s “Stay Home Stay Safe” mandate. Then, Karl Ieuter of the Ieuter Insurance Group talks about outdoor related business impacted by the virus and says this is a great time to inventory your hunting and fishing gear.
